Chapter 85 - Exoneration

Reclaiming our life was a journey of quiet restoration.
The first thing Ethan and I did upon returning to our estate was clear out every trace of Harrison Cross's presence. We redecorated the grand rooms, brought back our trusted staff, and spent weeks simply holding Noah and Sophie in our arms, reassuring them that the nightmare was officially over.
On a warm Monday morning, I walked into the lobby of Sterling-Vance Headquarters.
Every single employee—from the janitorial staff to the senior vice presidents—lined the marble atrium, breaking into a deafening, standing ovation as I stepped out of the private elevator.
I walked up to the podium in the center of the lobby, looking around at the loyal faces who had stood by our company through the darkest storm in modern corporate history.
"Thank you," I said, my voice carrying clearly across the silent hall. "Recent events tested the foundation of this company. But Sterling-Vance was never built on stock prices or legal deeds. It was built on truth, resilience, and faith in one another."
I paused, looking at Ethan, who stood at the back of the atrium, leaning against a marble pillar with his arms crossed, his face glowing with quiet, fierce pride.

"Effective today," I announced, "Sterling-Vance is committing ten billion dollars to launch the Veronica Vance International Foundation for Missing and Trafficked Children, ensuring no child is ever erased from their family again."
The room erupted into cheers, but my eyes never left Ethan's.
