Chapter 84 - The Mastermind’s Fall

The Swiss authorities took Veronica into protective custody. Given her decades of forced captivity under Harrison Cross, my legal team immediately worked out a comprehensive plea deal, placing her in a high-security medical rehabilitation center in Geneva rather than a prison.

Harrison Cross, however, faced no such mercy.

With the combined testimonies of Dr. Chen, the corrupted judges, and the mountain of digital evidence recovered from the Zurich servers, Harrison Cross was convicted on forty-two federal counts—including attempted murder, high treason, human trafficking, and corporate fraud.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment at the ADX Florence supermax prison in Colorado, without the possibility of parole, his empire completely dismantled and his name erased from Wall Street history.

Two weeks after the Zurich confrontation, the United States District Court in Chicago officially dismissed all charges against me.

My record was expunged, my corporate assets were fully unfrozen, and my title as Chairwoman of Sterling-Vance Enterprises was legally restored with absolute majority control.

As Ethan and I walked out of the federal courthouse into the bright spring sunshine, a sea of reporters cheered and snapped photos. But I didn't stop for interviews.

"Whatever you wish, my Chairwoman," he smiled softly, opening the car door for me.
