"...sign the paper, kid, and this all goes away," Julian’s voice sneered from inside the room.
I looked through the narrow gap between the double doors.
Noah was sitting in a leather armchair near a glowing fireplace. His hands were zip-tied behind his back, his dark hair messy, a dark bruise forming over his left eyebrow. But he wasn't crying. He sat tall, glaring at Julian Vance and Victoria Harrington with a look of pure, unadulterated contempt.
Victoria stood by the window, sipping a glass of red wine, wearing an elegant silk gown. "Sign the transfer waiver, Noah. You're a smart boy. You know you don't belong in that family. You're just a bastard child Ethan used to keep the trust away from Julian."
"My mother is the Chairwoman of Vance Global," Noah said, his voice remarkably steady despite his pale face. "And my father built a billion-dollar empire from nothing. You're just two desperate thieves stealing from a kid because you couldn't win in the boardroom."
Victoria’s face twisted in rage. She set her glass down with a loud crash and stepped toward Noah, raising her hand to strike his face.

"Touch him, Victoria, and I will tear your throat out," I growled, kicking the heavy oak doors off their magnetic locks.
The heavy doors slammed open against the stone walls. Ethan stepped into the room first, his firearm raised and locked onto Julian’s chest. I walked right beside him, my eyes fixed on Victoria.
