Chapter 111 - The Blood Trust Exposed

With his attempt on our children thwarted and his financial reputation ruined, Alexander fled Manhattan on a private helicopter, retreating to his primary fortified compound on a private island off the coast of Maine.
It was a jagged, cliffside fortress surrounded by crashing Atlantic waves and automated security turrets.
By 2:00 AM, our stealth vessel cut through the dark waters off the island's coast. Equipped with tactical gear, Ethan, Marcus, and I scaled the northern cliffs under cover of a torrential downpour.
"The master server holding the original blood-trust documents is in the subterranean vault," Ethan whispered as we bypassed the perimeter sensors.
We breached the heavy blast doors of the vault room. Standing beside the glowing server racks was Alexander, holding a heavy sidearm, his eyes wild and bloodshot with psychotic desperation.
"You ruined everything, Victoria!" Alexander screamed, his voice echoing off the stone walls. "That sixty billion dollars was mine! You were supposed to be my puppet!"
"I was never your puppet, Alexander," I said, stepping into the vault room, completely unfazed by the gun pointed at my chest. "You spent ten years hiding like a coward while Ethan and I bled to build something real."

"Ethan Vance is a nobody!" Alexander yelled, his finger tightening on the trigger. "A thirty-dollar beggar!"
Ethan stepped out from the shadows beside me, his blue eyes icy cold, his presence imposing and absolute. "That thirty-dollar beggar built a family that you could never break."
