Chapter 49 - Cross-Atlantic Pursuit

Reclaiming Sterling-Vance was only half the battle. Donald’s arrest triggered an automated protocol within the Board of Shadows: an all-out nuclear financial assault on our supply chains across Asia and Europe.

By midnight, Marcus landed in Chicago, bringing intel from the federal raid on Genevieve’s compound.

"The head of the Board of Shadows operates out of an off-shore island in the Mediterranean—Isla de la Sombra," Marcus said, laying a satellite map across our war room table. "It’s a blind spot for international law. They have a private server farm there containing the master encryption keys to half the world's bank reserves."

"If we destroy those servers," Ethan noted, staring at the blueprints, "the entire syndicate structure collapses permanently. They won't have the money to hire mercenaries, buy politicians, or threaten our family ever again."

"Then we go to the Mediterranean," I said firmly.

"No, Victoria," Ethan turned to me, his eyes filled with fierce protection. "It's a fortress. You stay here with Noah and Sophie."

I walked up to Ethan, grabbing his tactical vest and pulling him down so his eyes met mine. "Ten years ago, we built this life together. Thirty dollars brought you to my door, but we built this empire as partners. I am not sitting in a safe house waiting to hear if my husband is dead or alive. We finish this together."

Ethan stared into my eyes for a long moment before a proud, ruthless smile touched his lips. "God help anyone who stands in your way."
