Chapter 58 - The Conclave Shattered

The Vance ancestral fortress in Baden-Baden was a massive, gothic stone citadel perched on the edge of a sheer cliff, surrounded by ancient black pines. For over a century, the true shadow rulers of Europe had gathered within its vaulted granite halls to dictate the rise and fall of currencies.

At 7:00 AM, the massive iron gates were blown inward by two simultaneous shaped-charge breaches.

Falcon Unit swept through the courtyard like wraiths, their silenced rifles neutralizing Arthur's outer perimeter guards before a single alarm could echo across the valley.

I marched through the towering oak doors of the Great Hall, flanked by Alexander and twelve heavily armed operators. Behind us, linked via real-time satellite feeds displayed on six portable holographic projectors, were the live feeds of every major financial regulatory agency on earth: the SEC, Interpol, the Swiss FINMA, and the German Bundesbank.

Inside the Great Hall, Arthur Vance stood before an ancient stone fireplace, surrounded by thirty members of the Sovereign Conclave—billionaires, foreign diplomats, and shadow financiers, all dressed in formal black morning coats.

Every single one of them froze as my tactical team formed a firing line around the perimeter of the room.

"Katherine," Arthur said, turning slowly. He looked older, frailer in the morning light, his face pale and drawn without his digital filters. "You dare bring armed mercenaries into the Sovereign Sanctum?"

"The Sovereign Sanctum is condemned, Arthur," I said, tossing the crystalline drive onto the long mahogany table. It slid to a halt right in front of the eldest Conclave member. "That drive contains the complete record of the Obsidian Protocol. It details how Arthur Vance used Conclave reserve funds to finance illegal genetic cloning, biological harvesting, and forty billion dollars of unauthorized eastern market shorting."

Murmurs of shock and outrage erupted among the Conclave members.

"She lies!" Arthur barked, slamming his ebony cane onto the stone floor. "She is a hysterical outsider trying to steal the dynasty from its rightful bloodline!"

"Check the ledger," I said calmly to the elders.

The eldest member, a silver-haired Swiss aristocrat, slid the drive into a portable reader. As the authenticated cryptographic signatures flashed across the screen, the man’s face turned gray.

"Arthur..." the Swiss elder whispered, looking up in absolute horror. "You pledged our sovereign gold reserves as collateral for an unapproved private longevity lab in Macau? You gambled eighty percent of the Sovereign Escrow?"

"I built this Conclave!" Arthur roared, his eyes wild, stepping forward with his cane raised. "Without me, you are all nothing! The children are mine! Their blood belongs to this estate!"

"Their blood belongs to no one but themselves," I said, stepping into his path and locking my eyes onto his with absolute, merciless dominion. "You are stripped of the Founder title. Your accounts in Zurich, Singapore, and London are frozen by international freeze order 409-B. You have no money. You have no heirs. And you have no empire."
