Chapter 75 - The Sovereign Command

One hundred percent.
OVERRIDE ACCEPTED. MASTER TRIBUNAL KEY VERIFIED.
ENTER COMMAND PROTOCOL:
Without a second's hesitation, my fingers tapped out the emergency decommissioning sequence I had extracted from the shredded papers of the Paris vault and cross-referenced with Arthur Sterling’s notes: DISBAND-TRIBUNAL-ROOT-001.
The screen flashed a brilliant, blinding emerald green, casting a surreal hue over the blood and smoke of the carriage house.
Instantly, the violent, rhythmic hum of the heavy-lift tiltrotor aircraft hovering outside over the lake died away with a sudden, mournful whine as their primary flight computers lost their signal lock. The glowing crimson visors of the two remaining black-armored operatives flickered erratically, their visors snapping dark as their tactical neural links were abruptly severed by the sovereign override command.
The two operatives froze mid-stride, their weapons lowering as their systems rebooted into an inert, diagnostic-only loop. They stood like obsidian statues amidst the wreckage of the room, entirely neutralized without a single additional shot being fired.
Silence rushed back into the carriage house—a heavy, trembling silence broken only by the crackle of a stray electrical fire near the door and our own ragged, shuddering breaths.
Maya let out a shaky, hysterical laugh, sliding down the side of the tractor engine until she hit the concrete floor, burying her face in her hands.
Marcus lowered his rifle, his shoulders heaving as he stared at the neutralized operatives in stunned disbelief. "What... what did you just do?"
"I didn't destroy them," I whispered, dropping back into a wooden chair behind the workbench, my hands trembling violently now that the adrenaline was beginning to drain from my veins. I wiped a streak of soot from my forehead. "I transferred ownership. The Black Sun Protocol requires a master biological and cryptographic authority to execute its judgments. By injecting our verified family key through the estate's root partition, the system registered us not as targets for liquidation, but as the governing tribunal itself."
Eleanor walked slowly out of the shadows, her eyes wide as she looked at the silent, helmeted figures standing like sentinels by the shattered doorway. She looked at me with a reverence and a fear that she had never shown anyone before—not even Julian.

"You're the head of the table now, Claire," Eleanor whispered, her voice trembling. "You hold the sovereign key to the entire global shadow economy. Every asset, every ledger, every hidden syndicate in the world... answers to you."
"Good," I said, standing up slowly, my legs feeling weak beneath me, but my resolve forged in absolute, unyielding iron. I walked over to the reinforced steel door of the vault where Julian was locked inside. I reached into Marcus’s pocket, pulled out the heavy brass key, and slid it into the lock. "Because it's time we had a family meeting."
