Chapter 53 - tracing the evidence

To defeat a senator, Caroline needed undeniable evidence. This time, computer systems or hackers could not help her, because Vance was an old-generation man. He kept his dirtiest secrets in a physical safe.

Thomas used an underground intelligence network to monitor all of Vance's activities. It took two weeks for him to discover that Vance frequently visited an isolated villa not registered under his name. That place was strictly protected by private forces.

"He hides black financial ledgers and extortion audio recordings there," Thomas pointed to the satellite map projected on the large screen. "But this villa uses a closed-circuit security system. It cannot be hacked remotely. To get the evidence, we must break in directly."

Caroline stared at the screen. Breaking into a senator's house carried massive legal risks. If caught, her conglomerate would collapse, and she would have to go to prison for the rest of her life.
