Chapter 35 - violence rises
Completely cut off from his lifeline, Silas decided to resort to a final, desperate measure. He summoned his most elite team of mercenaries, planning to kidnap Caroline right in the heart of the city to hold her for ransom.
That evening, Caroline attended a major charity gala. She wore an emerald green evening gown, radiating brilliance and authority. However, her sharp intuition made her notice something unusual about the new security guards.
When the event ended, as Caroline prepared to step into her car, three black SUVs suddenly rushed in to block her path. Dozens of masked gunmen poured out, firing warning shots into the air, creating a scene of absolute chaos and sheer panic.
"Protect the boss!" Thomas roared, drawing his gun and fighting back fiercely. Caroline's bodyguards immediately formed a defensive perimeter around her, creating a solid wall of flesh against the terrorists' hail of bullets.
Caroline did not tremble. She calmly took cover behind the armored car door, assessing the situation. She knew they needed her alive, which was her biggest advantage. With a swift motion, she activated the emergency alarm system.
