A few days later, Thomas walked into Caroline's office with an incredibly tense expression. His familiar brown leather briefcase was slammed onto the desk, signaling less-than-stellar news.
"I tracked down the source of the dirty money," Thomas said, his voice low. "The anonymous Swiss account doesn't belong to a typical rival corporation. It belongs to Marcus Sterling."
Caroline frowned. Marcus Sterling was a notorious billionaire known for his ruthless business deals. But what shocked her most was his secret connection to the past.
"Marcus secretly dated your sister before she was thrown in prison," Thomas revealed, opening a file containing candid surveillance photos. "He is using his money to get revenge for her."
