Chapter 29 - THE CIPHER IN THE CODEThe sterile, hyper-secure environment of Caleb’s architectural studio in Chicago provided a stark contrast to the grimy underground vault in New York. Caleb sat at his massive, multi-screen workstation, his eyes burning with exhaustion. It was 3:00 AM.

Hannah sat beside him, nursing her fourth cup of black coffee. She watched as Caleb ran Arthur Vance’s encrypted hard drive through a series of advanced, architectural decryption algorithms he had personally designed.

"The blueprint looks like a standard subterranean facility," Hannah murmured, tracing the lines on the physical paper spread out on the desk. "But Arthur said there was a geographical cipher hidden in the design. How do you hide a location in a floor plan?"

Caleb didn't look away from the screens. His hands flew across the keyboard, typing commands. He paused and signed to Hannah: "You don't hide it in the walls. You hide it in the negative space. The ventilation shafts, the drainage slopes, the specific angles of the load-bearing pillars."

He hit the enter key. The primary monitor flashed, transforming the 2D blueprint into a highly complex, 3D topographical map.

Caleb overlaid the 3D map onto a satellite grid of the greater New York metropolitan area. He ran a matching algorithm, searching for specific geological and infrastructural anomalies that matched the blueprint’s exact stress requirements.

For ten agonizing minutes, the computer churned through terabytes of data.

Then, the screen flashed green. MATCH FOUND.

Hannah gasped, leaning forward.

The topographical map aligned perfectly with a massive, supposedly abandoned industrial sector located deep within the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

"The Third Archive," Caleb signed, his eyes widening as he stared at the location. "It’s hidden beneath a decommissioned dry dock. It’s a completely self-sustaining, subterranean fortress."

"We need to call Tessa Ward," Hannah said urgently, reaching for her phone. "The FBI has to raid this facility immediately."

Before Caleb could respond, the studio’s internal security system blared a silent, visual red strobe. Someone had just breached the outer perimeter of the building.

Caleb instantly killed the power to the monitors, plunging the studio into darkness. He grabbed Hannah’s hand and pulled her behind the heavy, steel-reinforced drafting tables.

Through the frosted glass of the studio doors, they saw the silhouettes of four heavily armed men. They weren't moving like Victor’s hired thugs. They moved with terrifying, silent, military precision.

The Architect had found them.

Caleb pulled his encrypted phone from his pocket. He didn't text the police. He texted the only man in Chicago who knew how to fight a shadow war.

DOMINIC. STUDIO BREACHED. MILITARY TACTICS. WE ARE TRAPPED.
