"step aside, martha," ryan warned, his voice a low, terrifying growl. the housekeeper’s hands shook violently, tears streaming down her wrinkled face. "they have my grandson, mr. ryan," she sobbed. "victor said if i don't blow the cellar doors, they'll kill him." ryan didn't hesitate. he raised his gun and shot the detonator straight out of her hand, the device shattering into pieces against the stone wall. before she could scream, ryan tackled her to the ground, shielding her as a mercenary rounded the corner and sprayed bullets into the drywall. ryan returned fire, dropping the attacker instantly. "i will get your grandson back," ryan promised the weeping woman, pulling her into a side alcove. "but right now, you need to run." ryan punched his biometric code into the cellar door, slipping inside the subterranean bunker. lily and mia were huddled together on the cot, terrified but unharmed. ryan grabbed a heavy tactical bag from the weapon rack. they couldn't stay here. the estate was lost. it was time to wake up the ghosts of his past.
