Chapter 40

The next morning, the sun broke over the estate with a blinding, unapologetic brilliance. Gabriel and Rachel stood on the marble terrace, looking out over the manicured lawns. The world felt calm, secure, and entirely their own.

"We did it," Rachel said softly, resting her head against his shoulder. "The ports are secure. The business is clean. The shadows are gone."

Gabriel wrapped his arm around her, the silver signet ring catching the morning light. He thought of Daniel, the brother who had sacrificed everything to give his family a chance. He knew Daniel would be proud of the woman Rachel had become, and the father Gabriel had learned to be.

"We built something that will last," Gabriel murmured, pressing a kiss to her hair. "A legacy for Lily."

As they stood together in the golden light, the past no longer felt like a haunted tomb. It was a foundation, strong and unbreakable, upon which their future would flourish. The white carnation, once a symbol of desperate vulnerability, was now a badge of their enduring resilience.

The story of the Moretti empire was no longer one of violence and tragedy. It was a story of redemption, fierce love, and a family that had conquered the darkness to claim their rightful place in the sun.
