Chapter 5 - The Collapse of the Dynasty

The sound of sirens wailing down the hospital corridor outside was a symphony of poetic justice.

Before Sibil or Fallon could summon another frantic scream or desperate denial, the heavy privacy curtain was pulled aside with a decisive snap. Officer Davis stood in the opening, flanked by two uniformed patrol officers whose expressions made it clear that negotiation was not on the agenda.

"Sibil Ward and Fallon Ward?" Officer Davis asked, his voice carrying the calm, absolute authority of the law.

Sibil spun around, her face twisting into a mask of righteous indignation. "You must be out of your mind! Do you know who my husband is? Do you know what kind of legal team we can—"

"Your husband’s corporate accounts were frozen twenty minutes ago under a federal judge's emergency administrative hold," Officer Davis interrupted smoothly, stepping forward and resting his hand casually on his utility belt. "And as for your legal team, they’re currently scrambling to figure out why their retainer checks bounced."

He pulled two sets of polished steel handcuffs from his belt.

"Sibil Ward, Fallon Ward, you are under arrest for premeditated aggravated assault with a deadly chemical agent, corporate fraud, and conspiracy. Turn around and place your hands behind your back."

Fallon let out a choked, hysterical sob, clutching her designer hoodie around her as the reality of the handcuffs crashed down upon her. "No! No, this isn't happening! I have a photo shoot tomorrow! I have three million followers! You can't touch me! Mom, do something!"

Sibil stood paralyzed, staring at the glittering stone on her finger—a ring bought with decades of social climbing and financial manipulation—before the cold reality finally broke her spirit. She didn't fight. She simply closed her eyes, her shoulders slumping as the patrol officers stepped in and secured her wrists with a sharp, metallic click.

As they were led out of the hospital room, Fallon casting one last look of pure, unadulterated murderous hatred in my direction, I didn't blink. I didn't smile. I simply watched them go with the detached, clinical satisfaction of an actuary closing out a catastrophic risk assessment ledger.

"Well," Maya whispered softly into the quiet of the room once the footsteps faded down the hallway. "That was... remarkably efficient."

"That was merely phase one," I replied, turning my attention back to the glowing screen of my tablet. "A frozen bank account and an arrest warrant are just the initial containment measures. Now comes the restructuring."

Maya pulled up a chair beside the bed, resting her chin on her hand. "What does phase two look like, Sloan? You've got them in handcuffs and their assets frozen. What else is left?"

"The sponsors," I said. "Fallon's entire empire is built on brand sponsorships—skincare lines, luxury fashion labels, boutique endorsement deals. Every single one of those contracts contains standard moral turpitude and criminal liability clauses."

I tapped the screen, pulling up a master list of Fallon’s active corporate partners.

"When a lifestyle influencer with three million followers gets arrested on live television for throwing industrial acid into her sister's face during a wedding broadcast, those corporate legal departments don't wait for a trial. They issue immediate breach-of-contract notices to protect their own brand equity."

Maya’s eyes widened. "You're going to proactively notify every single one of her sponsors before their PR teams even wake up?"

"I already have," I said smoothly. "My automated notification scripts sent certified legal packets containing the police blotter, the forensic lab reports, and the hospital chemical burn documentation to the general counsels of all twelve major corporate sponsors at 6:00 AM."

I watched as a fresh email notification popped up on my screen.

Sender: General Counsel, GlowUp Cosmetics Corp.

Subject: URGENT: Partnership Termination & Legal Notice Re: Fallon Ward.

I opened the message and read the first line aloud to Maya: "In light of recent criminal charges and documented violations of our moral conduct code, GlowUp Cosmetics is hereby terminating all existing endorsement agreements with House of Fallon LLC, effective immediately, and reserving all rights to seek financial damages for brand depreciation..."

Maya let out a low whistle. "Sloan, you just vaporized her entire professional existence before breakfast."

"Actions have consequences, Maya," I said, leaning back against the pillows and looking out the window at the bright, merciless morning sun. "My sister wanted to destroy my face and humiliate me in front of two hundred people for social media clout. I simply showed her the market value of her choices."
