Chapter 6 - The Song of the Swallows

One year later. Summer.

The sun was setting in brilliant shades of pink, orange, and gold over the lakefront terrace of the Vance Estate.

A grand anniversary celebration was taking place—a celebration honoring the launch of the Chloe Vance Foundation for Missing Children & Victims of Trafficking, a fifty-million-dollar charity designed to help mothers recover lost children across the country.

Over two hundred guests sat at round tables on the lawn, enjoying music, food, and laughter.

Standing on the small stage under a warm spotlight was Chloe, holding a acoustic guitar.

Beside her stood seven-year-old Noah, holding a small microphone, wearing a crisp white shirt and dark trousers.

Chloe looked at her son, smiled, and began to play the soft, sweet melody her grandmother had written fifty years ago—the lullaby of the three flying swallows.

Noah raised his microphone, his clear, beautiful voice rising above the evening breeze, singing the final verse of the song:

“...and the little swallow flew through the storm,

back to his mother’s arms, safe and warm.”

The entire garden erupted into thunderous, standing applause.

Noah threw his arms around Chloe’s neck, hugging her with all his strength, while Beatrice and Marcus cheered warmly from the front row.

Chloe held her son close against her heart, looking up at the open, starlit sky.

The maid's uniform was gone. The dark nightmare was buried forever under the weight of truth, justice, and love.

And standing together in the bright, warm light of their true home, Chloe and Noah knew that the song of the swallows would echo in their hearts, unbroken and victorious, for the rest of their lives.
