Chapter 4 - The Boardroom Reclamation

Forty-eight hours later.
The high-rise headquarters of Vance Global Logistics in downtown Chicago sat under a clear blue sky, overlooking the lakefront.
In the grand 50th-floor boardroom, the emergency shareholder meeting was in full session. Twenty prominent international directors, corporate lawyers, and major institutional investors sat around a forty-foot mahogany table.
Sitting at the head of the table was Beatrice Vance, flanked by Marcus.
Standing at the front podium was Chloe Vance, wearing an exquisite dark navy silk suit, her dark hair pinned back elegantly, wearing her mother’s silver swallow cuff on her wrist. Sitting on a chair beside her was six-year-old Noah, wearing a dark navy blazer, proudly holding his mother’s hand.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the board," Chloe announced, her voice booming clearly across the silent boardroom, "for six years, this corporation has operated under the false assumption that my branch of the family had ceased to exist."
She pressed a button on the podium.
The large HD screens mounted on the walls lit up, displaying the certified DNA maternity match executed forty-eight hours ago by the State Supreme Court, along with the full court order reinstating Chloe Vance as sole legal guardian of Noah Vance and primary trustee of the fifty-percent voting shares.
"Under Section 12 of the Vance Family Charter," Chloe declared, her eyes scanning the twenty directors, "I hereby execute my full voting authority to terminate all remaining administrative contracts associated with Victoria and Julian Vance, freeze their asset distributions, and return all misallocated capital to the primary trust."
The directors sat in absolute silence for two seconds, before Old Director Henderson—the longest-serving board member who had been a close friend of Chloe's late father—stood up from his seat.
Director Henderson began to clap.

Within three seconds, all twenty directors in the room stood up, clapping and cheering, welcoming the true heir back to her rightful place at the head of the Vance empire.
Beatrice Vance sat in her chair, tears of pure, breaking joy streaming down her cheeks as she watched her daughter hold Noah tight against her chest under the warm boardroom lights.
