Chapter 7

Claire stood by the window of her penthouse, looking out over the glittering skyline. Her phone chimed. A message from an unknown number: He kicked her out of his office. He's paranoid.
She smiled and typed back: Perfect. Proceed with phase two.
The door to her suite opened, and her brother, Thomas Bennett, walked in. He tossed his coat onto a chair, looking exhausted. "I just got out of a meeting with the Bennett board. They are not happy about the rumors, Claire. They want to pull our investments from Moretti Holdings."
"Tell them to wait forty-eight hours," Claire said, not turning away from the window.
"Claire, this isn't a game," Thomas warned, pouring himself a drink. "If Vincent goes down, the stock tanks. We lose millions. You need to file for divorce and secure your assets now."
"If I divorce him now, I get half of what he owns," Claire said, finally turning to face her brother. "If I wait, I get the whole company."
Thomas stopped, his glass halfway to his mouth. "What are you talking about?"
"Julian called me because he wanted to use me," Claire explained, her voice steady and chilling. "Vincent cheated on me because he thought I was too oblivious to notice. They both think I'm just a pawn in their succession war. I'm going to show them I'm the queen."

"How?"
"I have proof that Julian has been siphoning company funds for a decade," Claire said. "And Vincent signed the audit reports."
