Chapter 6 - A New Dawn at Monarch Cove

Three months later, the morning sun over Big Sur was brilliant, washing the cliffs in a warm, golden glow.

The scandal had swept through the financial and social columns for weeks. Whitmore Renewal had collapsed within forty-eight hours of the presentation; its investors had pulled every dime, and the company was currently winding through bankruptcy court. Grant Whitmore had retreated in disgrace, his career in ruins, abandoned by the very social circles that once praised him. Sienna Blake had vanished from the industry entirely.

Inside the executive office of Monarch Cove, Evelyn Hart Whitmore sat behind her father’s mahogany desk. The heavy leather chair fit her perfectly now.

Thomas Ellery knocked softly before entering, holding a fresh cup of coffee and a final acquisition portfolio.

"Good morning, Miss Hart," Ellery smiled warmly. "The seasonal restructuring is complete. The wellness retreat program is moving forward under entirely new, ethical leadership—and our incoming strategic partners from the Pacific Northwest are downstairs waiting for your review."

Evelyn took the cup of coffee, her wedding ring replaced by a simple, elegant vintage emerald ring that had belonged to her grandmother. Her reflection in the polished glass of the window showed a woman who was no longer hiding in anyone's shadow.

"Thank you, Thomas," Evelyn said, her eyes shining with quiet triumph. "Let them up. Let's build something real."

The Pacific crashed against the rocks below—wild, beautiful, and entirely free. Evelyn smiled, took a sip of her coffee, and stepped forward into her future.
