Chapter 10 - Forever Home

Summer arrived in full splendor across the Colorado Rockies, painting the valleys in vibrant shades of green and gold. The Aspen mansion, once a cold monument to isolated wealth, had transformed into a true home filled with warmth, laughter, and unbreakable bonds.

On a bright Sunday morning in July, Nathan and his daughters stood on the front lawn with buckets of bright golden paint and fine-bristled brushes.

"Are we ready?" Nathan asked, holding up his brush.

"Ready!" the quadruplets shouted in unison.

Together, they approached the massive front oak doors of the mansion—the same doors Vanessa had slammed in anger months before. With steady hands and joyful giggles, Nathan and his four daughters painted a brilliant cluster of golden stars across the dark wood, sealing their promise that no matter how bright the world outside might shine, the truest light would always burn right here, at home.

Nathan stepped back, wiping a speck of gold paint from his nose as his daughters hugged his legs, laughing into the morning sun.
