Chapter 6 - The Unbroken Future

One year later. Summer.
The evening sun cast a warm, golden light across the floor-to-ceiling glass walls of my new beachfront estate in Cape Cod.
The air was fresh, carrying the clean scent of ocean salt, lavender, and blooming beach roses.
I sat on the wide teak deck overlooking the sparkling blue waters of the bay, working off a sleek, custom-built laptop, sipping a glass of chilled white wine.
My phone chimed on the table.
It was an automated update from my legal team:
FINAL DISSOLVING DECREE EXECUTED.
ALL CLAIMS CLOSED. CASE TERMINATED.
I read the notification, locked the screen, and set the phone down on the wooden table.
The dark memories of the family house, the refolded towels, the passive-aggressive comments, and the broken laptop on the marble floor were gone, buried forever under the weight of truth, success, and absolute freedom.
Lenora and Adrian were living quietly in a rented suburban duplex, far removed from the high-society circles they had tried so desperately to maintain.
And standing here on the deck of my own home—built with my own mind, paid for with my own success, and protected by my own strength—I was safe, whole, and completely, wonderfully free.
I took a slow, deep breath of the ocean air, looked out over the endless golden horizon, and smiled.
